"... full viability and feasibility study into the construction of a 5,000 tpa Furfural plant
29 November 2002 -- Durban, South Africa. International Furan Technology (IFT) has entered into an agreement with Proserpine Co-operative Sugar Milling Association Limited (PCSMA) over the Australian rights to the SupraYieldŽ technology. Over the next six month, PCSMA and IFT will undertake a full viability and feasibility study into the construction of a 5,000 tpa Furfural plant. If, as expected the study proves successful, the plant could be completed by the 30th June 2004.
The study will include an analysis of both the market and the development of the plant to a 30,000 tpa facility for the manufacture of furfural and its by-products.
PCSMA has been established for 105 years. It is an extremely successful and vibrant sugar milling co-operative in the Proserpine district, North Queensland (Australia), crushing in excess of two million tonnes of cane each year.
